On Jun. 12, 2008, the elites of advertising got together to hold the first Chinese New Year Mass Greeting Meeting and presented the Persons of the Year in advertising industry.
It is the fifth pageant of THE PERSONS OF THE YEAR, which hosted by China Advertising Association and undertook by Modern Advertising magazine, and it has become the most influential appraisal activity in China advertising and an assembly where the heads of advertising communicate every year. The appraisal activity aims to conclude and award the elites who did great contribution to the industry development, and to show the strength of advertising to prompt the progress of economy, culture and society in China.
With the efforts of the advertising staff, China advertising, after 30 years’ development, has become the fastest-developing market, much faster than a lot of industries. And the speed will continue for a long time. Advertisements enter every where, from the TV, papers and magazines, outdoor walls to internet, and influence people’s ideas, values, culture and consuming habits directly.
Advertisements change Chinese traditional ideas and steps a lot to civilization. We meet them everyday and are affected by them everyday. Advertising is the by-product of highly liberal business, and is considered as the barometer of economic condition. However, we should be aware that advertising faces the danger of being peripherizated by the wide social economy.
A famous French advertising critique has a famous saying, “The air we breathe consists of Oxygen, Nitrogen and advertisements”, portraits vividly the importance of advertisements in the society. Advertising is indeed a attractive and challenging industry producing great economic and social returns.
Adpersonin, as the most important factor and the core of the industry development, are responsible for the growth of the industry.
All the awarders are the bright stars shining in the China advertising, who are the towers of strength and enlighten the future of China advertising.
